AIS tagging refers to Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) compliance tagging-a process used to prevent the spread of harmful species like quagga, zebra and golden mussels between water bodies. A certified inspector checks your boat for signs of contamination and, if cleared, applies a red tamper-proof tag and seal to your vessel and trailer.
Any vessel wishing to launch sooner than the required 30-day quarantine period must have a hot-water decontamination performed by an approved decontamination station. These vessels are allowed to launch immediately following decontamination and will have a green seal applied. Each seal application will be entered into a database to confirm the date, vessel/seal numbers and the location.
Our certified inspector will perform a thorough visual check of your boat, trailer, bilge, anchor, ballast tanks, and any compartments to ensure they're clean, drained, and dry. Next, a hot water flush, draining and drying, and cleaning of all water-contacting surfaces and compartments will be performed.
We love our customers, come visit The Boat House and see what sets us apart from other boat dealerships. We are now offering decontamination services (GREEN TAG) for immediate lake access to Folsom Lake and Lake Clemintine along with inspections for 30-day quarantine (RED TAG). Our inspection site is conveniently located at The Boat House.
